The author has done a cursory amount of historical research, but in that way talks down to his audience (possibly because much shouldn't be expected from readers of pirate romance ). The characters are thin, the motivations are shallow, and the plot predicable (some say that there's a twist at the end, but I can't justify finishing it). As an editor, my eyes rolled back in my head every time I read. Holy crap, this book is awful! One chapter in and I was astounded at the anachronisms! A third way through and the soft core porn is too much to handle! This is a prime example of why self-publishing is never a good option.
